We have had a busy week around here getting ready for our farm walk through with the Rural Resources and it’s members / growers. We had a great turn-out, there were folks of all age groups here, and experience levels.
Nathan had finally put our ranch sign together and got it hung out at the road, something that has been “in the process” for over a year. And I have to say, it looks really good, what do you think?
We checked out the garden, where I had just put in my lettuce, and our cold frame, which is full of sprouting veggies. Our Cherry Tomatoes, jelapeno peppers, yellow squash and zucchini are all doing great and will be ready for the garden very soon!
We walked the hill, where we found some pear trees that neither Nathan nor I had seen before, so these need to get marked and checked on later in the season. We saw a lizard sunning himself on a log, walked the wildlife refuge, and saw lots of deer and turkey tracks. Had some great discussions going on, lots of questions were asked, and all had a good time! To see more pictures from the walk through, click on the picture below and visit our Picasa Web Album.
