Farm Shares (AKA Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA) is a subscription based program in which a "Member" buys a "share" of a farmer's harvest at the beginning of the growing season. You then come to the farm each week to pick up your "share" of the farm's vegetable harvest or that share is bagged or boxed and delivered to the you at a designated location. 1. You know what you will be getting before it is delivered so you can plan around the fresh produce
2. Membership to our private Facebook Group, where you are free to ask questions and learn from other members
3. Each week, receive an email with links to recipes and storage tips and also exit strategies (what to do with any left-over produce from the previous week)
4. And the best part, if ask me, is getting to know your food, and your farmer.
As a Member, you help the farm at the beginning of the season by supplying the capitol to buy the seeds, fertilizer and help needed to operate the farm. In return, you get a box of fresh, locally grown, great tasting produce.
The pricing is based on an average number of servings per box, not the number of items. And who would not want at least 25 servings of great tasting, naturally grown fresh veggies for just $25. You can now serve your family highly nutritional foods and support a local family farm. There is no way you can get THAT kind of VALUE at a grocery store.
The advantages of joining as a Farm Share Member are:
